After announcing Democrat Joe Biden to win the presidential election of the United States of America – Lithuanian business community expresses its congratulations to the new US Administration. President of LPK, Mr. Vidmantas Janulevičius says J. Biden’s victory sends significant message to the European business, because recently economic relations between the two partners have been chilly.
V. Janulevičius emphasizes that partnership between the two countries is extremely important not only to help overcome the consequences of COVID-19, but also to jointly address the issues of climate change and green energy.
Following the results of the US elections, Pierre Gattaz, President of BusinessEurope said:
“We would like to send our sincere congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
The Transatlantic relationship has not gone through its easiest period throughout the last years. Already before the US elections, BusinessEurope underlined the necessity of working for a better understanding and deeper cooperation between the EU and the US, based on the values we share, in our strategic policy paper EU and USA: How to build a positive agenda.
We believe that it’s now the time for the EU and the US to work together for a joint positive agenda, finding negotiated, mutually beneficial solutions to longstanding irritants like the Airbus-Boeing trade dispute and to start to jointly heal the international trading system by reforming the WTO. The European business community stands ready to constructively support this process.”
